knowledge is power

Mr and Mrs Obama became leaders of the free world (and an example to the whole world) through education. (pointed out by the new sec of ed, arne duncan). They did not come from a wealthy or privileged family (bush bought his way into school). They studied! In Marion County Florida they plan to lay off 500 teachers. A catastrophy in the making(unless they were substandard). It is every students world duty to at least finish High School. To drop out of High School is an insult to the world ( remember, red gold and green) and a cowardly act.

My car stopped running while I was at a stop sign. I called my road service for a tow and found myself talking to a woman in India! This is a differant world than in the past. We must now think globally. I pledge myself to the betterment of all citizens of the Earth. It is true that I am a greybeard, but I have young children and realize that they will be growing up in a smaller world than what came before. I say it is no longer "I pledge myself to the red white and blue", but "I pledge myself to the red gold and green". Red, gold, and green are the primary colors of the rainbow and are the colors of God's flag. A flag for all nations. What say you?
